SUBJECT: FORMER BRIDGEWATER DAY CENTRE AND WOODLANDS PLAY CENTRE
Both of these assets are surplus to the Council’s requirements. The Bridgewater Day Centre buildings are in poor condition and it is considered that repair is uneconomic. We are not aware of any significant disrepair with the Woodlands Building.
We propose to demolish the Bridgewater building in the near future.
We are considering the planning options for both sites and we will be placing the properties on the open market for sale in the near future. However, before placing the properties on the open market we are seeking expressions of interest from the voluntary sector.
You should be aware that the Council has no funds to support the continued use of these buildings and any proposals will require you to accept full responsibility for repairs, insurance and running costs.
If you do have a proposed use please reply before the end of September so that the Council may consider your proposal.
Please note that the Council will not be bound to accept any proposed use and reserves the right to treat with its property at the Council’s sole discretion. Nevertheless, if your proposals are consistent with the Council’s commitments to the community and Castlefields Regeneration the Council will consider your suggestions with utmost care.
Yours sincerely,
